Welcome to Whizz Kids
On behalf of all our staff I would like to welcome you to our Whizz Kids website.
Whizz Kids strives to provide high quality childcare for children before and after school every day during term time and all day every day throughout the school holidays. We are based in four locations within the small town of Alsager.
Whizz Kids understands the importance of learning through the universal language of play. We therefore aim to support learning and socialising by providing a fun and safe environment where children can get involved in: craft activities, sports, baking, quizzes, competitions and free play.
We hope that you enjoy our website and learn more about what we do at Whizz Kids and all of those involved.
Whizz Kids strives to provide high quality childcare for children before and after school every day during term time and all day throughout the school holidays.
Whizz Kids Out of School and Holiday Clubs were established in 1994 by Sue Stanway and Kirsten Forster. Whizz Kids recognised the need for good and reliable childcare before and after school and was one of the first providers in the area. Due to the high demand we quickly expanded and in the space of three years we had four clubs up and running.
With over 25 years of experience Whizz Kids is now based within the grounds of two primary schools in Alsager. At each of our settings we have sole use of our Club Houses which enables our children to have genuine ownership of their suroundings and a familiar place to play before and after school. As we are on the school sites we also have the benefit of being able to use all of the outdoor fields and play grounds giving our children ample space to play, relax and exercise.
Whizz Kids employ friendly, qualified and experienced staff. All staff undergo a thorough screening which involves written references and a Disclosure and Baring Service check (DBS) formally known as a CRB, to ensure that they are safe and suitable to work with children. All staff are qualified as Paediatric First Aiders and are involved in ongoing training to enhance their knowledge in areas such as safeguarding of children, Prevent Duty and Basic Food Hygiene.
After leaving school I qualified as a Nursery Nurse and then worked in residential settings for five years working with children who had additional needs. I moved from Hertfordshire to Alsager in 1991 to study a degree in Youth and Community Work at MMU. I then married a local lad and I’m still here!
As a mother of two daughters I fully appreciate the demands and needs of family life. At Whizz Kids we aim to support all of our children and families by providing a safe, consistent and fun environment.
Whizz Kids has introduced me to many wonderful children and families that I am proud to know!
