Annemarie McKayManager, NVQ III Playwork
“I work at Cranberry Whizz Kids every day before and after school in term time and two days per week in the school holidays.
From Swiss parentage, I was born and brought up in South Africa giving me an in-depth understanding of cultural diversity. I came to the UK in 2006 and have lived in Alsager ever since. I began working at Whizz Kids in 2006 as a Playworker and have since achieved many qualifications relevant to working with children. Whilst at Whizz Kids I have worked at all of the four settings and have got to know and enjoy working with all the children and families. I have been the Manager at Cranberry Whizz Kids since May 2015 I think that what I feel most proud about is the children and how they have developed, knowing that I have helped in some small way.”
Debbie FordDeputy Manager, NVQ III Playwork
“I work at Cranberry Whizz Kids every day before and after school in term time and three days per week in the school holidays.
I have worked at Whizz Kids since 2006, in this time I have achieved a NVQ Level III in Playwork and many other childcare related qualifications including paediatric first aid.”
“I work at Cranberry Whizz Kids every morning and at St Gabriel’s Whizz Kids every afternoon in term time and 2 days per week in the school holidays.
I was born and bought up in Ireland and moved to London to work in Banking and Broadcasting. When I moved to Alsager I was blessed to have a big family and I also have five lovely grandchildren.
I began working at Whizz Kids in 2014 after working for many years at St Gabriel’s and Pikemere Schools as a mid day assistant. I enjoy meeting and welcoming children and their families into a happy and homely environment on a daily basis. I take great pleasure in both playing with the children and watching them interact with each other. It’s just fun!”

“I work every afternoon at Whizz Kids since 2022. After graduating from Keele Uni with a degree in American Studies & English Literature, I then completed a Level III in Supporting Teaching & Learning.
In my spare time I love reading, enjoy walking and spending time with my friends and family.”
“I joined the Whizz Kids team in 2023 when I was looking for a change of career having worked for the last 10 years in the wedding industry. I work at Whizz Kids every morning and afternoon in the term time and one or two days in the Holiday Club.
I am a mum of three, who are all now young adults and no longer need me quite so much, which has given me the chance to try something new! In my spare time I like to go camping in my VW camper van, go to car shows and even dabble in some gardening!”
“I have worked at Whizz Kids since 2022 whilst I have been completing my degree in Early Childhood Studies at Staffs Uni. This degree focuses on children birth to eight years and provides me with knowledge of how children develop, learn and think.
In my spare time I like to spend time with my friends and family.”
